Overview

This small-group tour combines the excitement of the Naadam Festival with an immersive journey into the world of Mongolia’s legendary eagle hunters. It’s the perfect trip for travelers who want authentic culture, breathtaking landscapes, and meaningful encounters with nomadic families.

Your adventure begins in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia’s capital city, where you’ll explore historic sites and experience the blend of modern life and tradition. Next, you’ll fly west to Ulgii, the cultural heart of the Kazakh people. Here, you’ll stay in family homestays and camps alongside eagle hunters, learning firsthand about their way of life.

The journey continues through Tavan Bogd National Park, where you’ll trek across wild landscapes and experience highlights such as the Potanin Glacier, a non-technical climb of Mt. Malchin, the ancient Shiveet Khairkhan petroglyphs, and the stunning Lake Khoton. Along the way, you’ll witness the timeless tradition of eagle training, passed down through generations of Kazakh nomads.

This tour also includes a rare chance to celebrate Naadam Festival with local nomadic families, enjoying the traditional sports of wrestling, horse racing, and archery—one of the most colorful and authentic cultural events in the world.

Every day of this journey offers a new perspective on Mongolia’s wild beauty and living traditions, from snow-capped mountains and vast steppes to the warm hospitality of nomadic families.
